Oxygen Network Rebrand 2017

Trollback + Co, 2017. http://trollback.com/projects/oxygen/ Capitalizing on a strong ratings boost surrounding their weekday “Crime Time” marathons, Oxygen sought to rebrand themselves as a modern true crime channel that would resonate with their predominantly female audience.

To differentiate the brand from other networks, we steered away from tired crime clichés and took a more nuanced approach to the genre. The result is a sensory and emotional experience that focuses on motive and intrigue.

Oxygen came to Trollback + Co with an interesting problem. They noticed that their best ratings came during "Crime Time" marathons, and they were ready to go all-in on true crime programming. Our rebrand had to reflect that dramatic shift in tone, while resonating with their still predominantly female audience.

We created a modern and nuanced network that steers away from tired crime clichés, focusing instead on emotional impact, motive, and intrigue.
